If any city’s legacy can speak for itself, it’s that of Rome. This is the city at the heart of history, from the Colosseum to St. Peter’s Basilica, from Julius Caesar to Pope Benedict. Our location, in the heart of the heart if you will, leaves you walking distance from great shopping, great landmarks and great transportation.
If you’re looking to experience the city on a budget, Hotel Taormina Rome is a great fit for you. We are just moments away from a pair of legendary Baroque era cathedrals: Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano. We’re also just down the street form the famed shopping of the Via Appia.
Our 2 star hotel is also just a brisk 20 minute stroll from Rome’s greatest monument – at least by size – the Colosseum. Whether or not you are the walking type, it’s easy to get to the Colosseum or anywhere by bus or metro. With Hotel Taormina just blocks from the Termini rail station the rest of Rome is at your fingertips. Just a quick ride gets you to the Vatican, the Spanish Steps, or the Trevi Fountain.
We know that budget travelers will want to do just that, travel; why spend your days in the hotel when surrounded by the opportunities of Rome? Dine at some of the world’s greatest restaurants, explore unique neighborhoods like Trastevere, stroll the banks of the Tiber at night, and wander the ruins of the Roman Forum. When it’s all over, you’ll have a great room waiting for you at Hotel Taormina Rome, right in the city center. Arriving at our 2 star budget Rome hotel couldn’t be easier thanks to our proximity to the city’s main train station, Termini. Transport links run from both of the city’s airports to Termini until around 11pm, after which point you’re at the mercy of the Rome taxi drivers.
From Fiumicino Airport there’s the Leonardo Express train, while from Ciampino there are several regular coach services leaving from outside Arrivals. Tip: Don’t but your bus ticket on the plane, as you’ll have to line up with all of your fellow passengers and invariably pay over the odds with Terravision.
On arrival at Termini we’d recommend just walking the last 5-10 minutes, as taking the metro one stop to Piazza Vittorio will be at least as time consuming and probably more stressful. Exit Termini at the Via Giolitti side and turn left. Turn right onto Via Cairoli at the Church of Santa Bibiana then left onto Via Principe Eugenio. Hotel Taormina is at number 49.
